To work on the lesson plan, click on the Lesson Plan link on the left margin. This page lists the past lesson plans created and provide options for editing and deleting them and adding new lesson plans.
Note: Lesson plans are created per week.
By default, the lesson plan displays 8 periods per day. The page view will depend on the settings that you have already set up. Click Add period to all days to add more periods to the days.
Note: Click to select the settings for the lesson plan. Refer Lesson Plan Settings section.
Click Edit to edit the existing lesson plan and Delete to delete the existing lesson plan.
Click New to create a new lesson plan for a week. You see the Lesson Plan page. The page view will depend on the settings that you have already set up.
- Input the followings:
- Enter the name of the teacher, room number, and select the week beginning. Note: SchoolSpeak will remember teacher name and room and automatically populate them in the lesson plan for new weeks created.
- Enter the name of the period, subject, and duration.
- Enter the lesson plan details.
You can copy, paste, swap, and move the data from one cell to another cell by clicking the Back and Forward icons. - Clear Cell– Deletes all the details of the selected periods of the lesson plan.
- Delete Cell– Deletes all the details of the selected cell and inserts an empty cell at the end of the periods of the same day.
- Delete Column– Deletes all the details of the selected cell from all the days of the week.
- Select – Copies all the details of the selected periods of the lesson plan except the Period Name.
- Paste – Pastes the selected details in the same order.
- Swap – Swaps all the details of the selected periods of the lesson plan except the Period Name and Duration.
- Move – Clears the data in the destination period. For example, if you move the 1st period to 4th period, then the 1st period is cleared of the data and the data in the 4th period is replaced with the data of the 1st period. While moving the data, you see the following pop-up message.
Click OK to move the data.
Note: Use the vertical and horizontal scroll bars on your browser to view the other days and periods of the lesson plan.You can navigate to previous/next week using the icons.
- Click the Standards Attachments Homework links to add standards, attachments, and homework to the lesson plan.
Adding Standards
Click the Standards link. You see the Select Standard pop-up screen.
Do the following: - Select the grade from Select Group drop-down list.
- Select the gradebook standard from the Select Standard drop-down list.Note: You can select standards from multiple gradebooks.
- Check the check boxes adjacent to the required standard.
- Click Add.
Adding Attachments
Click the Attachments link. You see the Upload File pop-up screen. - Select Existing Attachment section displays the already used attachments list. You can select if you want to attach the same file and click Select to attach the selected file.
- To upload a new file, click Choose File to select the file and click Upload to attach the selected file.
Adding Homework - Click the Homework link . You see the Add Homework pop-up screen.
- Select the group from From Group drop-down list.
- Select the subject from Homework Resource drop-down list.
- To select the existing homework:
- Click the Select Existing Homework Resource link.
- Select the homework using the checkbox.
- Click Select.
- To add new homework:
- Select a date to publish the homework.
- Select a date to show the homework from assignment show options.
- Select the homework type from Type drop-down list.
- Select online submission permission.
- Select the access option.
- Click Add to add the homework to the lesson plan.
Note: If you want to remove/delete attachments and homework, click X/Delete. X removes the attachments and homework from the lesson plan whereas Delete deletes the attachments from the respective resource too.
- Click Save to save the lesson plan.
- You can use Copy From Previous Week to copy the lesson plan of the previous week to the current lesson plan. If the lesson plan for the current week is similar to the previous week, use this button to copy data and then modify for the current week.
- You can use Add period to all days to add one more period to all the days of the week.
