The teachers can send really important – time-sensitive communications such as school closures, early dismissals or events that impact the students like late buses to the members of your school. By default SchoolSpeak Administrators may send texts through SchoolSpeak. Administrators may designate other persons also to send texts.

To text/SMS:

  1. Click Email icon on the Home page.
  2. Select Text/SMS. The warning message is displayed.
    Note: The warning message is a reminder that there may be a charge for recipients that do not have an unlimited text plan. It also contains a reminder that to send a text, the member must have indicated the mobile carrier within the profile.
  3. Click Ok to continue to the texting window.

    If this is an emergency message, click the option – This is an emergency message.
    Note: Members may opt to receive only Emergency Messages. If this option is checked then members that have indicated to receive an emergency message will receive the message.
  4. Click To to select Groups/Members that should receive the text.
  5. Select the groups/and member type or specific members then click the Add to ‘To’ to add the selected group(s)/member(s) to the recipient list.
  6. Click Back to Text/SMS.
  7. Select the Mode option as appropriate.
  8. Draft the message.
    You may request to receive a reply from the recipient. The reply may be sent to either an email address or mobile number stored on the sender’s email.
  9. Click Send.
