Student Login (COPPA)
Student login is disabled by default. Websites that are collecting information from children under the age of thirteen are required to comply with the Federal Trade Commission ( FTC ) Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA see http://www.coppa.org ).
Since most of K-8 school's students are under 13, you will need parental consent to give them access to SchoolSpeak. Attached is the parent consent form and privacy policy.

Some schools do choose to give student access without using parent consent forms. They do the following:
  1.  Inform the parents. This allows parents to opt out if they do not want to give their child access.
  2.  Children are not allowed to edit his/her profile. Parents can still edit their child's profile.
  3.  Neither parent or child can enter an email address in child's profile. Admins are able to enter an email for the student's account.
  4.  Child's password is sent to the parent (click email user password in child's profile edit page.) Student login is disabled by a master login and will be enabled once you confirm that you reviewed this information. Please let us know what you decide.
